Stud welding is a specialized process in which fasteners such as threaded studs or threaded pins are welded directly onto a metal surface. A high-current electrical pulse creates a localized weld, securely bonding the fastener to the material without penetrating the base metal.
Stud welding is ideal for thin sheet metal and is commonly used for front panels, enclosures, housings, and façade systems. It provides a strong, concealed fastening while preserving the product’s appearance. Studs can be welded to both aluminum and stainless steel.
